Expert dog trainer, Lisa Rhodes, runs a world class behavior modification program for training even the most unruly dog to become a model canine citizen. Call Lisa at 650.359.1627 ext 308 for the full scoop on how to help your dog finally learn to stop pulling on the leash, come when you call him, stop jumping up and other wondrous skills.

Lisa's experience in the industry of dog training is impressive. She has been training dogs for over 20 years, and has personally worked with over 5,000 dogs. She began her professional training career by completing a course in Wild Animal Affection Training and spent time training exotic animals, such as lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!). Working at Gentle Jungle brought her to Los Angeles where she attended Pierce College and studied Animal Health Technology and Animal Behavior.

Recognized within her field as a gifted dog trainer, Lisa was a protege of famed dog trainer, Matthew Margolis, and is featured in his book, "When Good Dogs Do Bad Things". After completing her training at Margolis' National Institute of Dog Training in Los Angeles, Lisa accepted a position of trainer at the renowned Hollywood Dog Training School. During the 80's and early 90's, Lisa trained many celebrity's dogs, including those owned by Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, George Lucas, and Michael J. Fox, to name a few.

Lisa came to Shamrock Ranch in 1992. She was ready to leave LA and fell in love with the beauty of Shamrock Ranch and Pacifica. When she arrived at Shamrock, there had been an absence of In-Kennel training for more than 10 years, and Lisa worked very hard to establish a reputation and build the training department. Lisa's commitment to Shamrock Ranch has never waivered. Owner Dana Denman has allowed her the opportunity to follow her passion for training dogs, while extending the gift of working at beautiful Shamrock Ranch (a far cry form LA). Lisa has never once regretted her decision to give up the "Glam" for the "Sham".

Lisa's philosophies and methodologies come from her years of experience as an In-Kennel dog trainer. She focuses on creating a well-behaved family companion who exudes a positive working attitude. Lisa's goal is to create a successful relationship between dog and owner, by striking a balance between repetition and praise to modify the dogs behavior. She emphasizes training geared to the individual temperament of each dog and feels the need to allow for the innate characteristics of each breed, (you can't train a Pug to act like a Lab). A personal history of the dog's life is also considered when making training assessments. Lisa feels that every dog and owner can benefit from training. You really can teach an old dog new tricks!

With a reputation as one of the finest dog trainers in the business, Lisa's history of satisfied clientele is phenomenal, her knowledge of dog behavior absolute, and her love for dogs exhibited by the enthusiasm for her work.
